What can I expect during my first treatment?

The first treatment is usually slightly longer in duration due to our extensive intake done in order for the acupuncturist to arrive at their Chinese diagnosis. The patients entire health history is usually taken, emotions are considered, and lifestyle patterns are examined. The acupuncturist will explain the basics of the medicine, foods that help heal the body, and answer any questions that you may have.

Do the needles hurt?

Unlike the needles used in giving injections, the filaments used in treatments are extremely fine, only 2 times the width of a single hair. Acupuncture needles are designed to enter the skin with the least resistance. Most people are surprised to discover that treatments can involve little to no pain and are usually quite relaxing.

What sensations may I feel?

You can expect to feel a light tingling, a feeling of heaviness, warmth, or numbness at the acupuncture site.

How much is the cost of a treatment?

The cost at the time of treatment is usually around $70.00.

What if I'm running late?

If you are running a little late we will make every effort to squeeze you in. However, in the event that we are fully booked and you arrive more than 10 minutes late, we may need to reschedule you.
